that "Standing upon the high grounds of South Toowoomba, the tall Gothic structure of the new Roman Catholic Church forms about the
most conspicuous feature in our urban landscape. When the whole ambitious intention is fulfilled, Toowoomba will possess
a cathedral that in size and solidity will yield to none in the colony".
St Patrick’s dominates one of the most significant historical precincts in Toowoomba (the city is blessed with quite a few). The site of
Toowoomba’s first National School, first hospital – or benevolent asylum as it was first known- and existing buildings of significance,
think the former Toowoomba South State School. There is so much here.
